HACC funding extended for service groups 2 and 4

Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, Senator Jacinta Collins, has extended funding for HACC service groups 2 and 4 from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015. Click here to view the press release. Read more
 
 
Big Ideas on Ageing

The 14th annual SA Gerontology Conference will be presented by the SA Division of the Australian Association of Gerontology at the National Wine Centre, Adelaide on Monday 21 October 2013.
 
 
South Australian Strategy for Safeguarding Older People 2014-2021

The draft South Australian Strategy for Safeguarding Older People 2014-21 has been released for consultation. This strategy, once finalised, will replace Our Actions to Prevent the Abuse of Older People 2007 as the overarching whole of community and government framework to ensure older people living in the community are safeguarded and their rights are protected. Supporting carers in the workplace: A Toolkit 2013

“4.1 million employed people in Australia (38.2 per cent of all employees), have unpaid caring responsibilities. This number will grow substantially over the coming decades and is likely to affect all of us." Demographic and policy changes will mean the numbers of women and men, who have caring responsibilities while employed, is increasing. Read more
